(20 April 2007, Hong Kong) To recognize the achievements of outstanding employees in pursuit of excellence, NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 0659) held the NWS Holdings Awards Presentation Ceremony 2007 (the “Ceremony”) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (“HKCEC”) on 18 April 2007.
The Group treasures talents in various regions and positions. Hence, the NWSH Outstanding Employee Grand Award (the “Award”) opens to managerial, office and frontline staff from Hong Kong/Macau and Mainland China. It is the fourth consecutive year that the Award is held. A total of 55 staff members from 28 companies were nominated for the Award this year.
Employees were selected based on their contribution to their respective company, drive and enthusiasm in job, job quality, management skill and customer service skills. All candidates had to pass through internal selection of their respective company and two panel interviews conducted by the Group management thereafter.
Dr Henry Cheng, Chairman of NWS Holdings, officiated at the Ceremony. Dr Cheng remarked that NWS Holdings having a staff of 42,000 in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau always perceives its staff as an important asset. The Group believes that satisfactory business development and continuous growth of profit could not be attained without the efforts paid by every individual staff. Therefore, ceremony is held annually for the prime purpose of motivating service excellence and to recognize volunteers for their selfless contribution as well as the outstanding companies which have upheld corporate social responsibility (“CSR”).
More than 600 people, including the management of the Group and member companies, awardees and their family members, attended the Ceremony. The management also presented the CSR awards and NWSH Sports Yearly Grand Award 2006 in the ceremony. Most Outstanding Project awards and Best Use of Business Expertise awards were presented to the Corporate Office and member companies in appreciation of their efforts in the NWSH Caring Day 2007, which was held earlier in February 2007. CSR awards were presented in abid to encourage member companies to deploy caring culture to the community.
Moreover, the Group jointly organizes the School Business Mentorship Programme with CCC Heep Woh College this year. The mentors and mentees of the programme were invited to join the Ceremony, followed by a tour to the back office and the facilities of HKCEC, with the aim of broadening their vision.
