The Group recently garnered several awards in recognition of its continuous efforts in enhancing caring and family-friendly policy and practices. These awards included the Distinguished Family-Friendly Employers 2013/14 and Special Mention Award from the Family Council in Hong Kong, the Most Attractive Employer Award 2014 and the Best Responsibility Model 2014 in the third China Finance Summit held in Beijing, as well as the renewal of Manpower Developer 1st in the ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme by the Employees Retraining Board in Hong Kong.
In keeping with the Group’s caring and family-friendly culture, different measures have been implemented to meet the employees’ needs, such as paternity leave, marriage leave and birthday leave. The Group also extended its care to employees’ families through the NWS Scholarships for Employees’ Children Scheme which supported their children’s development. A variety of recreational activities and interest classes were organised to enhance family well-being, for example, inviting the corporate staff members and their families to join the Staff & Family Movie Day next month.
Training and developing talents is essential to the Group’s sustainable development. The Group provides a wide-range of training courses to staff members every year in areas such as management skills, information technology and customer service, as well as offering study sponsorship and examination leave to help them attain professional qualifications and continuous development. To nurture future leaders of the Group, high-potential managers and executives were sponsored to join the executive training programme offered by the Richard Ivey School of Business of the University of Western Ontario. The Outstanding Employee Grand Awards were also presented at the NWS Awards Presentation Ceremony in recognition of the staff’s outstanding achievements.
