NWS Holdings named among top performers in Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index

(5 September 2016, Hong Kong) NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”; Hong Kong stock code: 659) has been selected as a constituent of Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index (“HSSUSB”) for the sixth consecutive year with effect today. In the latest review, the Group received a score of AA for its overall sustainability performance. It was also named the highest-scoring constituent company in fair operating practices, one of the seven core assessment subjects, underlining the Group’s effective policies and practices in the prevention of corruption and anti-competition behaviour, and ethical policies in purchasing, distribution and contracting.


NWS Holdings Chief Executive Officer Tsang Yam Pui remarked, “Benchmark forms an important part of our overall approach to sustainability. Through benchmarking our performance against international and industry standards, we are better informed on our strengths and weaknesses and can learn from best practices. The Group is one of the 93 selected constituents of HSSUSB in the latest assessment, which covers seven core subjects on organizational governance, human rights, labour practices, the environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues and community involvement and development.
