(13 May 2009, Hong Kong) Being one of the founding members of the Fair Trade Workplace Society formed under Fair Trade Hong Kong (“FTHK”), NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”; Hong Kong stock code: 659) fully supports fair trade. In response to the nine-day Fair Trade Break organized by FTHK, NWS Holdings held a “Fair Trade Tea Break” on 13 May 2009 by serving fair trade organic tea and cookies to its staff to promote the purchase of fair trade products which, in turn, guarantees disadvantaged producers a fair price for their hard work and enables them to improve their family and community’s livelihoods.
NWS Holdings has been supporting fair trade through providing fair trade coffee and tea bags for its staff at the corporate office. Spreading the message of fair trade, NWS Holdings also encourages its member companies to join the Fair Trade Break on 13 May 2009.
