(11 August 2009, Hong Kong) NWS Holdings Limited (“NWS Holdings” or the “Group”, Hong Kong stock code: 659) endeavours to promote corporate social responsibility across the Group. To further promote this core value and to recognize contribution of the corporate volunteer team, NWS Volunteer Alliance, the Group has resolved to launch the NWS Volunteer Alliance Award Programme.
The NWS Volunteer Alliance Award Programme encourages staff to serve the community, details of the programme are as follows:

There are 32 volunteers eligible for the awards last year in which two volunteers accumulated over 200 service hours. Assuming average service hours for each service are four hours, they have carried out over 50 services last year! Besides awarding enthusiastic volunteers, NWS Charities Foundation will make donation to the charitable organizations selected by the volunteers or the company. For each service hour they contribute, NWS Holdings will donate HK$10.
NWS Volunteer Alliance has been established since 2001 and has accumulated over 55,000 service hours as at June 2009, with over 1,800 staff and their associates registered as members. Photo below shows five volunteers with the highest service hours who have different talents and provide a wide range of services, including house improvement works, regular haircutting service for elderly, charity marathon run and clown performance.
